Omega Seamaster Diver 300M

    I purchased this Omega Seamaster when I was at university in my early 20s.  Probably a tad foolish to spend that sort of money on a watch at such a young age, but even then I knew this was something I would keep forever.  It was also the start of a tenet I live by to this day: buy something of quality and keep it.     The Seamaster was first launched by the Swiss watch company Omega in 1948.  It was based on watches they had supplied to the British Royal Navy during the Second World War.  Omega used a revolutionary O-ring seal for watertightness; technology that had been developed during the War for submarines.     Over the years the Seamaster would become very popular with the British military, especially elite forces like the Special Boat Service (of whom the US Navy Seals are modeled after).  Because of this, the Seamaster would be worn by my favourite fictional hero: Bond, James Bond.     Yes, I bought a watch beca...

  -Part II of a lone traveler’s journey through Northern Hindustan   27/3/23   New Delhi train station at 10 o'clock in the morning is an experience one never forgets .  Outside the station it is a sea of taxis, tuk-tuks , and buses bringing people in and taking them away. I came early as I was expecting a very long line through security. Turns out there was no line as no one was operating the x-ray machine. I also stepped through a metal detector which was switched off. I felt safe.    The inside of the train station looks like something out of a film. Everywhere there are people (many sitting on the floor), baggage, crates of produce, and animals. Good news though: there is a waiting lounge! However, it’s nothing more than benches in an area that has fans (no air conditioning ) and anyone can sit there .  I did see a sign for a women-only lounge, but God knows what that was like .  The toilet situation is simply too horrific to put into prin...
